Which engines do you prefer, the older OHV 5.0L and 351W, or the newer OHC 4.6L and 5.4L?
Which engines do you prefer, the old SBC Fords or the new Modular Fords? Why?
I prefer the new modular Fords, especially the 3V 4.6L. These engines are very easy to make power with, the 3V heads flow as good as the best aftermarket 5.0L heads, the rotating assemblies are very strong, and they offer superior drivability.
my favorite is the new 4v 5.4L. There is no replacement for diplacement. With a built bottom end like in the shelby gt 500 its potential is limitless. With the new whipple and a few other supporting mods 1000hp is a deffinate possibility. My second favorite is the 4v 4.6, but I must admit I am bias. I own a 2004 cobra. The 3v 4.6 is a good engine as well and if your a ford fan you have to have lots of love for the good ole 5.0L. I have never had a chance to drive a car with the 351W, that would be the 2000 cobra R correct?? I imagine that has to be a pretty impressive engine.
